The evening of September 13, 2009 saw an industry-studded event at the Fashion House Condos in Toronto that won’t soon be forgotten. Dean and Dan Caten, designers behind famed label DSquared, threw a glitzy Sunday night bash to celebrate their induction into Canada’s Walk of Fame. The award show, which aired on national television stations the same night also greeted Tom Cochrane, Kim Cattrall, and Blue Rodeo amongst others as fresh inductees.
With the Toronto International Film Festival in full swing, this past weekend was jam-packed with glamorous parties, but the DSquared event took gold for panache. Clad from head to toe in chic, industry professionals such as editors (including CHEEKMagazine.com’s George Antonopoulos and Caroline Shaheed) art directors, stylists, PR executives and many more danced, chatted and feasted on sushi at this sophisticated soiree.

Sponsors Belvedere and Moët & Chandon welcomed guests to a red carpet affair, complete with a DJ that kept the party hopping all evening. The Fashion House Condos won’t be open to residents until April 2011, but might just be worth looking into well ahead of time. The aptly named Fashion House Condos—have 12 units designed by some of Canada’s top designers including Jeremy Laing, Greta Constantine and Bustle, and the boys from Greta Constantine and designer Shawn Hewson from Bustle were also at the soiree.
Although most had to rise early to work on Monday morning, there were few hesitations to stay all night and soak in the DSquared glory, and likely many Monday lunch-hour catnaps to compensate for all of the early-morning merrymaking.
