Today we had to say a very, very difficult and heartbreaking good bye to one of the most talented individuals in the fashion world. British fashion designer Alexander McQueen died this morning in his Green Park home in Central London, it is believed the 40-year-old McQueen hung himself.
His line McQ, was scheduled to show this afternoon, February 11, 2011 at New York Fashion Week, but has been cancelled. McQueen’s mother had also recently passed on February 2, 2011.
There are few individuals that could hold a candle to the creativity and ingenuity that ran through the veins of Alexander McQueen. It is with a heavy heart that I write this completely inadequate post to the man who brought expert tailoring and a Joie de Vie to all he created.
He was loved by critics, celebrities and fashion fans all over the world and for good reason. The fashion world has suffered a terrible blow today.
McQueen’s talent, design, and boisterous personality will live far beyond his years in our hearts and throughout fashion history.
Dearest Lee Alexander McQueen, you will be loved and missed.
